Understanding the urban complexity posed by the territory under analysis (Prado Veraniego), located in the city of Bogotá between the Autopista Norte and Avenida Las Villas (east–west), and between Calle 129 and Calle 127 (north–south), was the challenge approached through a holistic analysis. The aim was to interpret the site from an eclectic perspective, allowing us to comprehend and envision an intervention field within the tangle of commercial, residential, environmental, mobility, and social dynamics taking place in the area.
The proposed methodology, and the way the project was structured, consisted of five phases developed progressively —though not linearly— since the initial assumptions were constantly debated in an effort to grasp the complexity of the territory. The stages were:
